Engagement Evolved

Hi, We're WYSKR

Hi, we're WYSKR (pronounced "whisker"). We'd like to introduce ourselves.

We're a start-up building an engagement platform for today's attention economy.

What's the Problem?

Start-ups are launched to solve problems. What problem is WYSKR solving?

The problem is that great content needs better context to compete in today's attention economy.

The WYSKR Strategy

Context sounds like is a big problem. What's WYSKR's strategy for solving it?

WYSKR's strategy involves a "Moment-first" focus, a "Virtuous Triangle" format, and a Co-creative approach.

Hi, We're WYSKR

Hi, we're WYSKR (pronounced "whisker"). We'd like to introduce ourselves.

We're a start-up building an engagement platform for today's hypercompetitive attention economy.

Although we're new and can't get into a lot of detail just yet, we'd like to give you an early look at the platform (above) and start sharing some of our thinking via this site. We'd love it if you read our blog, subscribe to our email updates and follow us on twitter at @WYSKR.

To kick off, here are a few things we'd like you to know about WYSKR as a company:

  • We're passionate about capturing more value from the attention economy.
  • WYSKR's mantra is "be curious."
  • We believe people are most engaged - and at their best - when they're being curious.
  • WYSKR's strategic first principle is: engagement = "being in the moment."
  • WYSKR's mission is to maximize the value of these moments.

What is WYSKR?

We call WYSKR an "engagement platform," but another way to describe WYSKR is: "an interactive, mobile-first, data-driven, social media-focused, multimedia-infused, community-powered web app."

As a start-up, though, more important than the question of "what is WYSKR?" are the questions of:

  1. "What problem is WYSKR solving?" and
  2. "Why do we care?"

What's the Problem?

Start-ups are launched to solve problems. What problem is WYSKR solving?

The problem is that great content and experiences need better context to get the attention they deserve.

On the one hand, "producers" - like media companies, learning organizations, agencies, brand publishers, native advertisers, content marketers, thought leaders and event organizers - are not adequately reaping the rewards of their best efforts.

On the other hand, "consumers" - you and me - are not adequately benefitting from these best efforts.

To capture more value from the attention economy, we see an opportunity for a new kind of engagement platform that employs a unique focus, format and approach.

Why Do We Care?

We care about capturing more value from the attention economy for three reasons. We think these reasons are important and that you'll care about them too.

First, with the proliferation of mobile devices, what's happening in the attention economy is having growing influence over the wider global economy. We want to help shape that influence for the better.

Second, we believe curiosity is the foundation of human fulfillment and success. We want to help foster it.

Third, we see talented people and organizations working hard to cultivate interesting ideas and turn them into quality content and experiences. We want to help reward these efforts. We believe that if quality is rewarded you get more of it.

The WYSKR Strategy

Improving context is a big problem. What is WYSKR's strategy for solving it?

WYSKR's strategy involves a "Moment-first" focus, a "Virtuous Triangle" format, and a Co-creative approach.

Moment-first Focus

Mobile devices are now by far the most important field of competition in the attention economy, and success is measured in moments.

We think competition on mobile is evolving into hypercompetition, requiring a laser-like or what we call "moment-first" focus on adding value.

Virtuous Triangle Format

We believe people are most engaged and at their best when they're being curious. We've found that three things in combination have the most impact on driving curiosity: ideas, people and events.

We view ideas, people and events as forming a "virtuous triangle" where each amplifies the impact of the other.

Co-creative Approach

Our goal is to create an engagement platform that breaks down stakeholder silos and empowers co-creativity.

We think this approach is the best way to capture value in a hypercompetitive mobile environment.
