Curious about how US corporations are tackling unconscious bias?
SXSW Interactive speaker Joe Gerstandt (@joegerstandt) of Talent Anarchy joined Ellevate Network, Bill George, Catalyst Inc. and a host of others in tweeting about a recent post on the Fortune magazine web site titled "How Corporate America is Tackling Unconscious Bias."
The article discusses the recent Pew Research report that presents survey data on the question of why more women aren't in leadership positions in business and politics.
The most common response was that women are held to a double standard and must work harder than their male counterparts to get ahead.
One reason for this, according to diversity expert Howard J. Ross, is that both men and women can have "ingrained expectations of workplace roles."
The article describes the steps companies like Google, T. Rowe Price and Roche Diagnostics are taking to address unconscious bias. These include training sessions for managers, broadening recruitment policies and gender-blind hiring processes.

WYSKR at SXSW Interactive 2015
In the run-up to SXSW Interactive, WYSKR is keeping an eye on the content being shared on social media by the event's speakers. When particularly noteworthy content is shared by a speaker, WYSKR will share it with you, along with video content of interest.
Because great events curate great speakers, and great speakers know and share great content when they see it.
